The Swim is Save The Bay’s largest, and most iconic, annual fundraiser. For nearly 50 years, athletes and advocates have been inspired to tackle a two-mile, open water swim across Narragansett Bay’s East Passage, raising both funds and awareness for Save The Bay’s mission to protect and improve Narragansett Bay.
As a fundraiser, the Swim directly supports Save The Bay’s educational programs, our advocacy efforts, and our habitat restoration efforts. As a community event, the Swim engages hundreds of swimmers, kayakers and volunteers in a celebration of the recreational benefits of Narragansett Bay.
In the 50 years of The Swim, athletes have raised nearly $7,000,000 and swam over 24,000 miles!
Each swimmer is required to raise a minimum of $450, which includes the $50 registration fee. Swimers who raise $700 or more will have the opporuntity to earn Swim prizes. Kayakers are not require to raise money. Teams can join together to fundraise but each swimmer is responsible for the $450 minimum.
