Please help protect a healthy Narragansett Bay that is swimmable, fishable, and accessible by joining or making a tax-deductible contribution to our SwimRI fundraising team for the 2022 Save The Bay Swim.
This year's 2-mile open water swim from the Naval War College in Newport to Potter Cove in Jamestown will take place Saturday, August 6, at 8 a.m.
For the past decade SwimRI and its predecessor (Newport Athletic Club) has been the largest fundraising team in participants and funds raised.
Anyone can join our team. We will take a team photo before the Swim; some years we throw a team party.
STB defends the public's right to use and enjoy the Bay and its surrounding waters, it fosters environmental stewardship among people who live in or visit the region, and it supports an ecosystem-based approach to environmental action:
- The Narragansett Baykeeper, Narragansett Bay Riverkeeper and South County Coastkeeper act as watchdogs to ensure the Bay and its watershed are protected.
- Educators explain the importance of our waters and teach good stewardship.
- The policy team works with state and local government to pass laws that protect the Bay and communicates with lawmakers on the importance of environmental action.
- The habitat restoration team restores and improves the ecological health of coastal habitats and watershed areas.
Thank you for supporting Save The Bay!
