New Swimmer Orientation

Water

Questions? Concerns? Join our New Participant Orientation

New swimmer and kayaker orientaiton is designed for first-timers who are curious about the course, have questions about the logists, or just want some general knowledge about the Save The Bay Swim. We welcome long-time swimmer and coach/trainer Fred Bartlett and long-timer Navy Team swimmer, Dan Force to the Orientation to help give you advice, perspective, and tips about the swim and the course. Swimmers and kayakers welcome.

The events manager will be there to go over the basics and answer any general questions you may have. Depending on the number of attendees, we will split into two groups: one group will accompany Fred Bartlett and Dan Force into the water for specifics and share experiences about the Swim.

The other group will look at the course from the finish and Taylor Point and go over the basics of the day. Orientation takes about an hour.

PARKING: In the lot above Potter Cove on Freebody Drive or on East Shore Road.

What to bring: A suit/wetsuit if you would like to go in the water. Also, bring water shoes if you like as there are often razor clams near the shore.

Where: Potter Cove, Jamestown, RI
When: TBD -- Saturday in July
